This November Day
The leaves move softly in the breeze
falling in gentle twirls to the ground
silent and then the sturdy tone –
a Canada goose
the loud honk of its sound
then silence again
as branches reach and bend
releasing slips of yellow, red and brown
to muffle the green of the grass
as it becomes
an undercurrent
this November Day
